Hi, and welcome to my little bitty corner on the web.
Firstly excuse the clutter, I don't always get the chance to keep my space nice and clean. I use it mostly just as a place to jot down notes while I am busy with a project, basically just so I can go back later and redo the steps implemented.
So, rather than using pen and paper, I do it all here, and hopefully my 'fiddling with stuff' can be useful to someone else, who may be working on something similar.
A little info about me...
I am a Software Developer, and addicted to Linux and 'projects'.
I am currently based in Perth, Australia, and work for Liz Earle Beauty Inc Ltd, who is based on the Isle of Wight in the United Kingdom. As part of a team, I am responsible for their e-commerce websites. and after about 6 years of employment at Liz Earle, I finally moved along.
Since 15/03/2011, I am now employed by Market United in Perth. I am already enjoying the fact that I am no longer stuck alone at home, and working with some like minded people in an office. Getting used to the daily travel is taking some time!
And life moved along again!
In November 2011, Mel and I packed up our lives, and the cat, and shifted to Sydney, where I took on the role of Technology Manager with Col-lect Retail Pty Ltd. Back to e-commerce where I belong!
The role consists of managing websites (which is a growing bunch of site, and currently consists of www.mycatwalk.com.au (soon to be a magento based site), www.babysgotstyle.com.au, and www.threadpeople.com.au (also going to be converted to magento in the near future). Currently I do not have a moments time to even catch my breath, just the way I like it, not a bored moment. Some coding is still required, but I am slowly growing my own team.
Married to Melanie since 12-12-2003 (after a friendship/courtship period that started in 1997).
Mel is the love of my life. I am one of those lucky ones that has found their soul-mate, and early in life as well, so I have lots of time to spend my life with her.
You can view some images using the gallery link in the menus (Melanie is supposed to be in charge of this, but it has also been lagging a bit - we are like two peas in a pot, both letting our sites go astray due to life just getting in the way)
I love music, (and a great bonus is that Mel and I share a lot of common interest in our music taste). On the right you can see a display of songs we listen to. Click through on that and you can view our full last.fm profile. Interestingly the page reflects our music listening prefs. I like listening to complete artists albums, and Mel prefers individual mixed songs. Last.fm thus shows all popular artists as my music choices, and popular tracks as Mel's choices.
Well, that is all I have to say about me at the moment.
